Story in Book Form
I have been working on my story in book form lately. This is great because it allows me to put the whole thing into much deeper detail. I really enjoy describing the characters' surroundings and what they think and feel as well as the weather and aesthetics. Here is part of the first chapter. I have more of the story done but I decided to just post part of it for now.
BEYOND the SWAMPS of GERIA
Chapter one: The Golden Waterfall
"Dear Adevire,
I didn't know how to tell you this, so I decided to write it in a letter. Your Dad got a new job! We will be moving into a new house in the city. I know you will be sad to move, but don't worry, I am sure you will make new friends in the city and I think you will like your new school.
I love you.
Love, Mom"
Adevire sighs. She flops down on the bed, limbs outstretched in the moonlight. Move? She thinks to herself. Leave the woods? Leave the animals and the hills and the streams? I can't. This can't be true. She looks around her room and sees the shelves of books, she had read so many times. Stories were one of her favorite things. But so were the woods. And now she would have to leave them.
She falls asleep...
Someone is walking in the woods. Is it her? ...no... This girl is younger and appears to be exploring different woods. She walks past a bush and stumbles over one of its roots. She starts to panic. She looks lost...
Adevire sits up. Sunlight floods her room. She pulls on her leather, walking boots and sets out to sit in her favorite tree and think over things. As she sits on the strongest limb of the tree and eats her lunch, she watches a squirrel, running up a tree. Adevire was an unusual girl. She never spent much time talking and chatting like most girls, but instead, she liked adventure and books. She had hazel eyes and her hair was a dark brown that fell over her shoulder in smooth waves. CRACK! Adevire turns her head and sees a beautiful brown deer. She softly climbs down the tree to get a closer look at it. As she walks towards it, it starts to run away, into the thicker woods. She follows it. She was not going to hurt it, she never hurt animals, she just wanted to look at it. She comes up to a giant tree stump and sees the deer's little white tail disappear behind it. Quietly, she walks into the little clearing in front of the stump and sees no sign of the deer at all. Disappointed, she starts to walk away and head back to her tree, but she sees something catch the light and turns around to see what it is. She bends down and looks at it. It looks like some kind of crest. Carved, and made of a shiny stone, she can not name, it bears three things on it. A sword, and two dragons, one on each side, their tails, wrapped around the sword, uniting it all into one symbol. Thinking the thing is pretty, she picks it up and instantly hears the falling of water. She walks over to the place where the sound is coming from, and she sees a waterfall! “That’s never been there before...”, she mumbles to herself. She puts her finger into the waterfall and water flows gently over it. Then she notices, there’s something wrong with the color. It looks almost...golden! she thinks. She fees a strange longing to walk into that shimmering, golden waterfall. And before she knows it, she’s walking into it! But to her surprise, instead of bumping into the huge rock behind it, she finds herself coming out of the other side! She looks around herself. This looks nothing like the woods by my house. She thinks. Then she puts the key back into her pocket. Instantly, the waterfall vanishes! “Woah!”, she exclaims. She looks down at herself and sees that she is completely dry! Astonished, though she is, she is not afraid. This is not much different from something that would happen in a book. She decides she wants to explore, a while. Its only noon. she thinks. I can just head back when it starts getting late. As she walks around, looking at the unusually green leaves and rich dirt of this forest, Adevire hears footsteps. Maybe I'm trespassing. She thinks. Then, deciding, it would be more comfortable to hide than to get shot or something, she gets behind a large tree stump. Watching from behind her hiding spot, she sees a pair of dirty hands separate the bushes. Then, out steps... a boy. He is a little taller than Adevire, has dark hair and brown eyes, and wears clothing made from what seems to be leather and plants from the forest. He doesn't look very dangerous so Adevire comes out of her spot.

I think the story is almost done! I'm thinking about putting it in book form and trying to get an editor to edit it for me. Then, maybe I can try to get it published!!!

The Key Between Two Worlds
The key between the worlds has two dragons wrapping around the sword. One resembles Geria, the other resembles the world of the humans. The sword resembles the door between them.
This key was made out of a special stone that is the only thing that can open the door between the worlds. It was molded by one of Queen Ninthia's ancestors, who designed it to look like an ordinary necklace. As it was passed down from oldest daughter to oldest daughter, only the royal family knew it's secret...

New character:
My story has a new character, who helps Adevire and the Gothen escape from the dungeons of Sir Ruinus.... He has no name yet. Any ideas for a name?
